In the fast-paced world of market trading (stocks, options, commodities, currencies, and futures trading, that is) nowadays there seems to be a special system designed to take advantage of whatever market product is being traded. This is no different when it comes to trading in the futures market.
The 60 Minute Trader system was designed and created for the futures market by Chris Kobewka, a successful futures trader. The 60 minutes in the title does not mean that you can trade and be successful in a total of 60 minutes per day. Chris's system concentrates on the first 60 minutes of trading after the US market (the Dow) opens, so be sure you are regularly able to trade during this time (9:30-10:30 am EST) before investing in this system.
Because of the commonly stated truism that futures trading is a zero sum game (a 50/50 chance of success), it is said that 95% of all futures traders fail in this market. The 60 Minute Trader™ now challenges that perception by claiming that its customers can now place themselves in the top 5% (the successful segment of traders). And judging from some of the comments made by current users who are having success trading with the system, this is probably not an exaggerated claim.
One note of caution, however, for anyone thinking of trying out the system and using it in other trading venues. Of the two methods mentioned in the book the one for the opening session on the Dow (called "fading" the opening) should only be traded during this time period and not used for anything else. If you have a mind to test it in the forex markets or any others, then be prepared to withstand a loss using it. This method was designed to be used only with this one market in mind. The people who speak badly about the 60 Minute Trader are those who have not followed the clear rules for trading with this system. If you don't follow its instructions, then be prepared to experience the consequences.
That said, it is also reported by current users of this system that it will most likely not make you rich overnight. What it will do, though, is to consistently present those who follow its instruction with a steady diet of small winning trades. And it will do this with regularity. Chris, its creator, claims that 75% of your trades will be winners over time, and the majority of his customers who trade according to the instructions have reported similar if not better results. Chris himself reports to have a 90% accuracy using his system, but then he designed it.
This one method itself is relatively easy to learn and to follow. There are only five simple futures trading rules for exact trade entry and exits. If you are able to follow these five rules, you should have no problem. In addition, Chris has included a section on money management and how to handle the tax situation, as there is a tax on futures trading although this is less than when trading shares in the stock market. In this section he shows how your profits can be taken tax free, and also gives tips on how to trade without having to pay high broker commissions.
About the only drawback to purchasing this system is its customer service. But even the downside of this eventuality is address on the sales page as Chris states that "should you have any questions you can email us and we will do our best to reply ASAP." The slowness of receiving a reply can be attested to by some of the current users, although one has stated that "many of the answers to the questions most will have may be found on their website."
The 60 Minute Trader also includes a method for those who wish to trade during the day, beyond the opening of the Dow. But this is not the recommended method of trading, especially for trading newcomers who are attempting to raise their futures trading IQ. Even so, the day trading method has been used with some success by Chris, the system's developer. If what you're looking for is a system which helps you to make consistently winning trades as you build your trading account and learn the ropes, perhaps the 60 Minute Trader is the program for you.
